ABOUT
In the writings of Ansel Adams, ZONE THREE is a technical term: the sensitometric 'zone' whereby using a light meter, you place shadows for optimal density.
Within technical jargon, you can also find desire; a need for and a belief in emotional potency through the foundational blocks of analogue photography: silver, light, shadow, density; later, photochemical colour.
Celluloid film combines image science and human empathy through vision. In its moving form, it uses sound, music, performance, design - and the unique 'cut' - to focus this power on spellbound audiences.
Through ZONE THREE, I use film in all its forms for both its technical beauty and empathic power. It's also fun.
